KOHAT, Feb 6: Unidentified persons blew up the house of a tribal elder of Orakzai Agency in Hangu district on Sunday with improvised explosive device, sources said.

The police bomb disposal squad said that five kilograms explosives were used in the blast. They also defused another five-kilogram heavy explosive device near his house.

Sources said that tribal elder Zahir Shah, presently living in Hafizabad area of Hangu, was not involved in anti-Taliban activities in his native Orakzai tribal region.

“He didn't take part in any action against Taliban,” they said. However, they didn't rule out the possibility of involvement of militants in the incident. Police registered a case against unidentified assailants and started investigations. —Correspondent
