MIANWALI, Jan 29: Two teachers employed by the local education authorities for schools have been exposed for simultaneously working with other government departments at the expense of their actual jobs.

An inquiry by a district administration team has revealed that Safia Bibi (who belongs to Isakhel) has been posted as a teacher at Markaz Mandakhel's Government Girls Primary School, Mir Hasanwala, but stays away from work because she also serves as a lady health worker.

The teacher, the investigators say, has been drawing salary from both departments.

District Monitoring Officer Amanullah Khan has reported the matter to DCO Tariq Mahmood who has ordered further inquiry to take action against the wrongdoer.

A few weeks ago Muhammad Asim Sultan, a teacher, was caught drawing salary for two different posts by a raiding team headed by the DCO.

The latter directed the DMO to scrutinise the record of teachers to detect any more cases.

Amanullah Khan told Dawn he had found clues to some other similar cases in the district, which he would disclose after a probe.
