BAHAWALPUR, Jan 16: A couple and their minor nephew were injured in a mysterious blast at their house in Dilawar Colony in Cantonment area here on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 sources and the police said that Ehsanullah, an army sepoy, was living along with his family in a rented house. In the evening, the couple and their nephew received injuries after a mysterious blast. They were rushed to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital where the condition of Ehsanullah was stated to be serious.

Baghdadul Jadid police did not respond to telephone calls of this correspondent.

ISPR in charge Major Nasir Farooq Peerzada told Dawn on telephone that initial reports suggested that it was a gas cylinder blast.

However, he said that intelligence agencies had started an inquiry into the incident. BOY RECOVERED:

The Saddar police on Sunday claimed to have recovered a six-year-old boy allegedly kidnapped for ransom some 11 days back and also arrested three of the four accused.

The police said that Moaz Qasim, son of Muhammad Qasim, was allegedly abducted from outside his house in Azizabad Colony.

They said the complainant had nominated Fayyaz, Ghulam Muhammad, Zafar and Mumtaz in the FIR.

The accused took the boy to Tarinda Muhammad Panah from where they contacted victim's father and demanded ransom. ELECTED:
