LARKANA, SEPT 30: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has announced a grant of Rs60 million for Dokri, Warah, Larkana, and Ratodero, and Rs5 million as special grant for Badah in the first phase of development.

He said this while addressing a public meeting in Badah town, some 50kms from here, on Monday.

He urged the people to vote for those who had brought in reforms and spent funds transparently for development.

Talking to newsmen, the governor said that the election would be transparent, fair, and free, and that it would not be postponed.

He said that if the need arose, then the Sindh government would seek help from the paramilitary forces in combating any kind of disturbance on the election day, and added that those spreading rumours of rigging were not sincere with the masses.

He said that visiting remote areas was aimed at assessing their needs and brought them at par with developed areas.

Labelling the unemployment a big issue, he announced that more branches of the Khushali Bank would be opened to extend more loans to help the jobless.

He said Sindh led in imparting free secondary education and distributing free uniforms and books.

Our Shikarpur Correspondent adds: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has announced an special grant of Rs80 million to improve drainage system in Shikarpur city and taluka, Khanpur taluka, Garhi Yasin taluka and Lakhi taluka.

Addressing public meetings in Madeji and Shikarpur on Monday, he called upon the people to vote for honest, trust-worthy and competent candidates, who were sincere in supporting the government’s reforms.

The governor said that drainage problem was common in cities, towns and villages of the province so the Sindh government had decided to prepare a master plan to overcome the problem of disposal of drainage water.

He assured to resolve the local problems, including desilting of the canals and watercourses and establishment of intermediate colleges in Madeji and Khanpur.

He recalled that the Sindh government had initiated many schemes for construction of link roads and improvement of drainage system in the province.

He noted that Sindh was very rich in natural resources like gas, oil and coal and hoped that in near future, a record development activity would take place and the province will receive huge amount from the exploration of natural resources.

He said that very soon the ban on the recruitment would be lifted to provide jobs to the educated youth.

He said that the government was determined to improve the life of the masses.
