KARACHI, Dec 28: Three former national champions are among the four cueists who are vying for four slots into the country's premier championship by going through the 19th Sindh Cup snooker which commenced at a local parlour on Tuesday.

The four who have entered the contest which serves as a qualifier for the provincial players, include veteran Mohammad Yousuf, Khurram Agha, Naveen Perwani and Vishan Gir.

According to format of the national snooker championship, top 16 players of the national rankings earn automatic entry in the event while the remaining 16 come through four respective provincial cups.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Akmal has been seeded on top followed by Khurram, yousuf and Farrukh Usman. Naveen and Vishan have been seeded sixth and seventh respectively.

All the above seeded players will make their appearance in the league on Jan 14.

As many as 296 players have entered in the contest which concludes on Jan 23.
