KARACHI, Dec 21: Investigators inquiring into the rape case of a young girl questioned on Tuesday a man who had hosted a party at his Defence apartment where the victim along with her friend was said to be present, officials said.

They, however, maintained that no arrest had so far been made and efforts were on to identify the suspects with the help of the rape victim.

“The man quizzed is in fact the owner of the apartment where the girls had gone to attend the party,” said an official associated with the investigation section of the Darakhshan police station.

“[At present] he is not a suspect…we are questioning him just to corroborate the facts that had been shared by the two girls.”

The Darakhshan police had registered a case against unidentified persons for kidnapping and raping a young girl. According to the FIR, the two girls were kidnapped by unidentified persons, who tortured both of them and raped one of them. The police said an initial medical examination had proved that the girl was sexually assaulted.
