LAHORE: International hockey umpire Haider Rasool has been promoted as the Grade I international umpire by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

“According to the Chairman FIH Umpiring Committee Ermanno Silvano, Haider achieved overall good marks after the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games 2010,” said a spokesman of Pakistan Hockey Federation here on Thursday.

His performance was up to the mark and FIH has decided to promote him as outdoor Grade I International Umpire.

Meanwhile, President Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia and Secretary, Muhammad Asif Bajwa have congratulated Haider to achieve this level and wish him best of luck for the future.— APP
