Inter-club hockey

KARACHI, Dec 6: National Hockey Club and Al Faisal Hockey Club registered wins on the eighth day of the Karachi Inter-club Hockey Tournament at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Monday.

National Hockey Club beat Karachi Tigers 14-0.

Olympian Abbas Hyder (sixth, 24th, 37th and 40th mins) and Zubair Ahmed (16th, 20th, 23rd and 49th mins) bagged hat-tricks by scoring four goals each, Zahid Sharif (10th and 31st mins) and Aale Hassan (35th and 39th mins) scored two each while Mohammad Anis (17th min) and Mohammad Yousuf (45th min) added one each.

The second match produced a slightly more realistic score line when Al Faisal Hockey Club beat PHF Academy 2-1.

The goals for the winners were scored by Mohammad Akram (16th min) and Lala A. Rahim (45th min) while Sohail (42nd min) reduced the margin for PHF Academy.

Tuesday's fixtures: Al Sagheer Hockey Club v Yazik Hockey Club (2.00pm); Airport Hockey Club v TCS Hockey Club (3.30pm).
