KARACHI, Sept 23: Sindh police lodged the first-ever FIR against police personnel under the newly promulgated Police Order-2002. FIR No. 117/2002 was lodged with Police Station Mauripur.

They wanted to verify their documents without any plausible reasons.

The report was also submitted to the capital city police officer, who took serious notice of the same and issued directives to register an FIR against them under section 156 and 157 of the Police Order-2002.

Section 156 and 157 relate to violation of duty/breach of standing orders of the law and torture/detain/search without any lawful authority.—APP
