WOUNDED: Anti-social elements shot and wounded two men and a woman at a bus stand in Lyari on Sunday morning.

Three armed men came to a bus stand near Lea Market for extortion.

As a cashier of a transport company tried to put up resistance, the armed men opened indiscriminate fire while fleeing, injuring several persons at the bus stand.

The injured were identified as Fahmeeda, aged 60, Javed, aged 22, and Maqbool, aged 27. Fahmeeda, who came to the bus stand to see off a relation, suffered a bullet wound to her shoulder.

The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital. Maqbool was stated to be in serious condition as he had received a bullet wound to his chest.

He had been shifted to a private hospital, sources at Civil Hospital said.

Witnesses said that bullets also hit passenger coaches at the bus stand and their windscreens were damaged.
