ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Monday that billions of dollars were required for reconstruction in Pakistan and that the international community should support the country so that the nation can be told that they are not dealing with the crises alone.

Gilani was addressing the concluding session at the Pakistan Development Forum in Islamabad, where he stated that Pakistan has faced the destruction by the floods and terrorism, both.

Gilani said that tax reforms were needed in Pakistan. He said that the 18th Amendment is a revolutionary step and soon 10 ministries will be eliminated.

Gilani said that some unpopular decisions had to be made in order to improve the country's democratic system. He said that the government believed strongly in democratic power and the expression of freedom.
