LAHORE, Nov 12: The Synergy Earth Global (SEG) has become the first business organisation in Pakistan to get the 'Green Office' certification by the WWF-Pakistan.

The SEG has achieved the status by fully implementing the Green Office environmental management system to maximise their resources and efficiently make use of them so as to minimise their environmental impact and sensitise the personnel more towards environmental and conservation issues, says a press release issued by the World Wide Fund for Nature on Friday.

The Green Office Initiative is a practical and intensive environmental management system that was originally developed by the WWF Finland, specifically tailored for office conditions.

Throughout the world, this programme is recognised as the sign of an environmentally-aware and committed organisation. In Finland alone, the Green Office network comprises 186 organisations, of which 151 have been granted the right to use the Green Office logo.

Hammad Naqi Khan, WWF-Pakistan director programmes, said: “The WWF-Pakistan is reaching out to businesses and corporations across the country to show their CSR commitment and give back to places they are working in.

The Green Office philosophy meshes well with fair and better office management. It creates a synergy that helps offices make the most of their resources and cut down their carbon and environmental foot print.” —Staff Reporter
