Accident death toll rises to six

LAHORE, Sept 16: Death toll in a bus and wagons collision near Minar-i-Pakistan on early Monday rose to six when a

28-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the Mayo Hospital.

The driver of a Faisalabad bound bus lost control over it when he took a turn at Azadi Chowk towards the river Ravi. The bus hit two wagons at Gujranwala/Sheikhupura bus stop. About 20 people sustained injuries who were rushed to the Mayo Hospital where five of them were pronounced dead on arrival.

Five of the injured were discharged after the first aid. The condition of the remaining injured was stated to be critical. The victims belonged to Lahore and Gujranwala.

The driver and conductor of the bus, however, managed to escape. —Reporter
