KARACHI Defending champions Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Navy, Afghan FC and Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) emerged victorious in the four Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches played at different cities on Sunday.

KRL edged out Karachi Port Trust (KPT) 1-0 at the Municipal Stadium in Rawalpindi. The all-important decider was scored by Mohammad Shahid in the 70th minute.

At the same venue, Navy beat National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) 2-1. NBP scored first, in the 21st minute, through Adil Ahmed. Navy's two goals were scored by Rizwan in the sixth and 87th minutes.

Another tight match played at the PMC Ground in Faisalabad saw Afghan FC edging PMC Athletico 1-0 with the winning goal coming through Najib Khan in the 82nd minute.

Meanwhile, PEL beat Habib Bank Limited (HBL) 2-1 at the Model Town Football Academy ground in Lahore. The two goals for the winners were scored by Saadullah (18th min) and Muzaffar Ali (90th min). HBL's lone goal was scored by Abdullah (29th min). There will be no matches on Monday.

Tuesday's fixtures Wapda v Afghan FC (Railway Stadium, Lahore); Young Blood FC v HBL (Rai Ali Nawaz Stadium, Sahiwal); Army v KPT (Municipal Stadium, Rawalpindi); PAF v NBP (Qayyum Stadium, Peshawar). Matches kick off at 3.30pm.
