Qadri Model School reach final

KARACHI, Oct 5 Qadri Model School qualified for the HBL-KCCA Inter-school cricket tournament final after clinching a surprise eight-run victory over GBSS Ibrahim Ali Bhai at the TMC Ground here on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first in the second semi-final, Qadri Model were dismissed for 149 in the 29th over with Khurram Shahzad (33) and Zia (25) the chief run-getters.

Hayat Khan claimed three for 17 and Ahmed Shah -39.

GBSS Ibrahim Ali Bhai, in reply, fell nine runs short of their target in the 35th over when they were bowled out 141 despite useful contributions from Ghani Subhan (41), Qadir Khan (35) and Haroon Khan (33).

Afnan and Ghulam Mohammad were the main wicket-takers for Qadri Model.

The final between Qadri Model and Fahad Academy is scheduled to be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
