KESC outplay KYC to reach final

KARACHI, Sept 6: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) secured a place in the final of Independence Day basketball championship with an easy 80-56 win over Karachi Youth Club in the second semifinal at Arambagh Floodlit Court Thursday.

The winners enjoyed 44-26 advantage at the interval. KESC trio of Muhammad Azeem, Wasim-ur-Rehman and Arif Khan played pivotal role in their team’s triumph.

Azeem emerged as the topscorer for his team with 20 while Wasim contributed 18 and Arif got 16 points.

Rizwan Khan with 21 points was the outstanding dribbler and scorer for KYC. However he was unable to get big support from other players. Munaf with ten points was other player to reach double figure for losers.

KESC’s opponent in the final will be Habib Bank Limited.
