KOHAT, Sept 6: Authorities here on Monday called in the Frontier Constabulary (FC) to assist police in maintenance of law and order after the provincial government declared Kohat division a likely target of terrorists on the eve of Eid festival.

The regional administration ordered the district administrations of Kohat, Hangu and Karak to enhance security arrangements after which police elite force and FC jawans had been deployed at all mosques, 43 imambargahs and sensitive installations.

Strict instructions had been issued to bomb disposal squads to be present during rush hours in all bazaars, where intelligence officials in plainclothes would also be on duty. People have been asked to keep their computerised identity cards with them while travelling. TRADER ROBBED:

Two armed motorcyclists snatched Rs150,000 from a local flour dealer near Sawa Lakh graveyard on Monday.

According to police, Rizwanullah, a flour dealer, was going to home from bazaar when two persons on a motorcycle intercepted him in a deserted area near a graveyard on Hangu road and snatched his bag at gunpoint.

The victim told the police that the bag contained Rs150,000. However, he could not identify the culprits.

Police have registered the case and started investigation.
