LAHORE, Aug 25 Chestnut colt Mera Baba completed a hat-trick of victories while landing the supporting event, run over the sprinting distance of 1,000 metres, during the Lahore Gymkhana midweek races at the Racecourse here on Wednesday.

The Khawaja M. Atif-owned odds-on favourite colt from unknown pedigree, Mera Baba led all the way home to beat bay filly Kitten by a big margin while bay horse Amazing Boy finished third among 11 runners.

Mera Baba gave an armchair ride to riding boy M. Wasim who leads the riding boys' statistics table with 12 victories this season.

This was the fourth race of the five-race card drawn for the midweek racing.

A race later, fancied chestnut filly Hello My Darling, ridden by jockey M. Zeeshan, strolled to win the feature event contested over 1,000 metres.

The winner beat bay gelding Jal Thal by three lengths with filly Pearl Queen and gelding Billoo Gee completing the frame in an event contested by only seven runners.

Three favourite horses won in a card of five races. They were Pocket Money (60-100), Mera Baba (20-100) and Hello My Darling (evens) in the second, fourth and fifth races, respectively.

The other two events were bagged by 7-2 roan filly Lucky Grey and the rank outsider bay filly KRS.
