SUKKUR, Sept 3: The PPP candidate for NA208, Jacobabad-I, Aijaz Hussain Bijarani, has complained that the principal secretary to the president, Tariq Aziz, was interfering into the election campaign for the national assembly seat.

Telegrams to this effect were sent by him to the president, Election Commission, Provincial Election Commission, Corps Commander, Sindh, and the European Union election monitoring team on Monday,

According to him, Aziz was putting pressure on the Jacobabad administration to ensure the success of Elahi Baksh Soomro in the contest from NA/208, Jacobabad-I.

He demanded of the election authorities and the president to stop Aziz from interfering into the election campaign, which was causing harassment among his voters.

On the other hand, Soomro alleged that the DCO, Khawaja Siddiq Akber, had been purposely brought to Jacobabad to influence the election for NA/208, Jacobabad-I.

Talking to newsmen in Jacobabad on Monday, he denied allegation of Bijarani that the principal secretary to the president was working in his favour.

He said that as Bijarani was afraid of his defeat in the elections, he had begun a campaign of vilification against him.
