LAHORE, Aug 6 Former SAF Games gold medallists have demanded of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to impose ad hoc on the Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) as the standard of the game was on constant decline in the country.

Former karate players, including Abdul Latif Butt, Inayatullah, Chaudhry Zahid and Shahid Hussain, at a press conference held at the Lahore Press Club alleged that the PKF president, Mohammad Jahangir, and secretary Shamim Ahmad had destroyed the game and both the PSB and the POA must impose ad hoc on the federation, besides probe its affairs.

They pointed out that various talented players had started leaving the country in disappointment as Jahangir, an employee of Wapda, promoted players of his department, ignoring others.

Latif said Pakistan grabbed seven gold medals in 2004 SAF Games in Islamabad. In the next edition in Sri Lanka, the tally was reduced to only four and now in the last episode in Dhaka, it was just one medal.

Later, they took out a procession in front of the Lahore Press Club and raised slogans against the office-bearers of the PKF.
