KARACHI, Aug 29: Naib Amir Jamaat-i- Islami (JI), Prof Ghafoor Ahmad has assured that the Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal (MMA), after coming to power, would restore the 1973 constitution to its original form.

He was addressing a workers convention at NA 246 constituency here on Wednesday night. Deputy secretary general JI, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, and nominated candidates of the MMA also spoke on the occasion.

Naib Amir JI, said that the rising poverty, hunger and lawlessness in Pakistan was attributable to the fact that the five elections held previously in the country since 1985 failed to provide honest leadership to the nation.

He said that an alliance of religious parties was an old demand of the people of the country and now all of them were taking part in the general elections under one banner, one manifesto and from one platform and the people “can now change their destiny by casting their votes for the MMA”.—PPI
