LAHORE, Aug 27: Seven people were killed and six injured in a head-on collision between a double-cabin van and a trailer on Ferozepur Road in Nishtar Colony late Tuesday night.

Fifteen people in the van (LHC-2205) were on their way to Kasur when it collided head-on with a trailer (PRK-3678) on the road.

Of the people in the van, 13 sustained serious injuries, and were immediately taken to the Lahore General Hospital.

Six of the injured were pronounced dead on arrival and one died later in the hospital.

Doctors said the condition of three injured was still critical.

Five of the dead were identified as Omar Hayat, 45, Shakeel, 30, Arshad, 32, Sagheer, 28, and Javed.

All bodies were lying in the hospital till the filing of this report.

The police said they had taken both the vehicles into custody.

No case has, so far, been registered and investigation is under way.
