QUETTA, Aug 27: Two persons were killed and five others were injured when unknown armed men opened fire at a bus in Phulaji area of Nasirabad district, on Tuesday.

A Chattar-bound bus coming from Jacobabad came under heavy fire, resulting in the death of two persons, Mir Hassan and Mohammad Waris, on the spot.

Five others, who also received bullet injuries, were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The cause of firing could be an old enmity between two groups, tehsildar said.

A case has been registered against unknown armed assailants and a search for their arrest launched. However, no arrest was reported till the filing of this report.

The local administration has deployed heavy contingent of law enforcement agency to avert further clashes between the two groups.

PLOTS ALLOTTED: The Balochistan government has decided to allot plots to the real affectees of Railway lands in the Takhtani housing scheme on lease basis.

The decision was taken in the provincial cabinet meeting presided over by Governor Justice Amirul Mulk Mengal on Monday.

The cabinet reviewed the issue of Railway lands victims and observed that with the demolition of houses constructed on the Railways lands the people were facing great difficulties as they have no other place for shelter.
