Cleanliness drive Environment Department students of the Government College University, Faisalabad, (GCUF) launched a “campus cleanliness” drive on Monday and displayed posters on the campus highlighting importance of the drive.

University's acting vice-chancellor Dr Shahid Mahboob Rana, addressing a ceremony held in this connection, said an educational institution was the second house of students and they should keep it clean and do their utmost for its wellbeing.

He lauded students' efforts for launching the cleanliness drive, and urged the students of other departments to join hands with them for a success of the movement. He also visited different blocks of the university to inspect the drive.

Environment Department Chairman Dr Ahmed Saeed told the VC that the students were taking part in the drive vigorously. He said through the drive a massage had been disseminated in society, particularly on the campus, that little efforts could make our environment clean and pleasant.

He said the department had launched a campaign of “One student, one tree” in the university.
