ABBOTTABAD, July 5 Four persons who were injured in the April 12 Abbottabad riots have moved the court for registration of an FIR against Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, Hazara DIG Imtiaz Iltaf, Abbottabad DCO Munir Azam and DPO Iqbal Khan.

Seven others had also moved applications for registration of a case against the SHOs of Cantonment and City police stations and the DPO a few days ago.

On Monday, the four injured persons filed separate applications before the district and sessions judge to register a case against the chief minister and the police officers.

The petitioners, Malik Shoukat Ali, Manzoorul Hussan, Mohammad Arshad and Sardar Javed, said they received bullet injuries in the incident and after medical treatment they went to the Cantonment police station for lodging an FIR, but it was not registered.

The earlier seven applications were filed by Nisar Ahmed, Zahid Khan, Mohammad Salem, Naveed Chan Zeb, Zabit Khan, Sher Khan and Mohammad Younas. They requested the court to register a case against District Police Officer Iqbal Marwat, Cantonment SHO Asif Gohar, City SHO Jehangir Khan and constables Mohammad Salem and Arshad, who they blamed for firing at peaceful protesters.

The case has been shifted to the additional district and sessions judge, who has fixed July 14 for the next hearing and summoned local police officials.

It may be mentioned here that police have registered two separate FIRs in the incident. The first case was registered on April 13 in which politicians and other people were nominated, including Sardar Haidar Zaman, Amanullah Khan Jadoon, Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob, Sardar Mohammad Idrees, Nisar Safdar Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Dr Azhar Jadoon, Qalandar Lodhi, Naseer Khan Jadoon, Aziz Azhar, Waseem Khan Jadoon, Qaiser Latif and Abdur Rizaque Abbasi. In the FIR, it was alleged that PML-Q leaders including Chudhary Shujaat Hussain, Amir Muqam, Waseem Sajjad and Amanullah Jadoon were responsible for inciting the people.

Another FIR was registered following the findings of a judicial commission headed by Justice Abdul Aziz Kundi.
