“We are sending Mohammad Sajjad and Asjad Iqbal to represent Pakistan in the Dhaka event,” PBSA Chief Alamgir Anwar Shaikh disclosed to the media.
National champion Sajjad has been withdrawn from a Thailand ranking event to participate in this event.
A prize money of US$3,400 will on offer in the competition with the winner taking $1,500, runner-up $800 while third and fourth spot will get $400 and 200 respectively. The highest break-maker will get $500.
Alamgir Shaikh said that besides Pakistan, cueists from Afghanistan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and host Bangladesh will be featuring in the event.
The event will be best of seven frames in league and pre-quarter-finals, best of nine in quarter and semi- finals and best of 11 frames in the final.
Asian number two and Pakistan's top ranked cueist Mohammad Sajjad will represent the country in the Sangsom 6-Red International Championship being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 19 to 24.
The richest event in Asia carries the purse of baht 5.4 million. He said top 16 world professionals and top Asian amateurs will be rubbing their shoulders in the event.—APP
