Two women of Daultanas in contest

VEHARI, Aug 25: Two women from Daultana family are for the first time in run for the polls in the district.

Shahida Daultana, the daughter of ex-Punjab chief minister Mumtaz Daultana, will contest from People’s Party (parliamentarians) platform for NA-168, Vehari II.

Shahida’s cousin, ex-federal minister Tehmina Daultana, is in run from the PML-N platform. She will contest for NA-168 and NA-169, Vehari II and III.

Vehari tehsil Nazim Mian Saqib Khursheed’s sister-in-law Nafisa Khursheed will contest for PP-236, Vehari, as PML-QA candidate.

Meanwhile, scores of other candidates submitted nomination papers on Sunday. Prominent among those are Ishaq Khan Khakwani (PML-QA) for NA-168, ex-MNA Dilawar Khan Khichi’s son Aurangzeb Khan Khichi (PML-QA) for NA-170, Vehari IV, Punjab assembly ex-speaker Saeed Ahmad Manais’ son Asif Saeed Manais (PML-QA/PML-J) for PP-238, Tibba Sultanpur.
