THATTA, Aug 22: Due to the shortage of water in the Keenjhar Lake, the fish production in the lake has decreased.

This was stated by the Director of Fisheries, Hyderabad, Ghulam Mohammad Mahar, during a visit to the Keenjhar Lake on Wednesday.

He said that fresh fish seedlings would be put in the lake so as to increase fish production.

Malah Action Committee chairman Adam Gandaro told the director that thousands of fishermen earned bread and butter by fishing from the lake.

He said that lack of fish catch has caused grave difficulties in the livelihood of local fishermen.

He demanded the provision of loans on easy instalments for fishermen.

The Director promised the solution of fishermen problems.—APP
