Four killed in Chitral

CHITRAL, May 6 Four people were killed and three others injured when a Land Cruiser going to the Arandu town from Upper Dir fell into a river here on Thursday, police sources said.

Those killed included driver Mohammad Zubair and Jamil Ahmed of Upper Dir and Rahmat Wali of Chitral.

BATKHELA A woman was killed and nine others, including three security personnel, were injured when a pickup vehicle and a passenger coach collided head-on on the bypass road in Thana, Malakand protected area, on Thursday.

The Levies post in Thana reported that an unidentified 55-year-old woman was killed and three security personnel and six civilians were injured in the collision between the forces vehicle and the non-customs paid passenger coach.

The injured civilians,Noor Alam, Mohammad Riaz, Ishaq, Suleman, Rohul Amin and Javed, were taken to the Batkhela hospital and the security personnel to the Malakand fort.—Dawn Report
