KARACHI, Aug 19: The Pakistan Post Office could not deliver hundreds of computerized national identity cards due to certain reasons and these were returned to local registration offices.

The National Database and Registration Authority had asked people to contact their nearest registration office to collect their computerized NICs, an official said.

He said the post office was given the task to deliver computerized national identity cards to the homes of the applicants. In some cases, houses of applicants were untraceable due to incomplete addresses. In some other cases, applicants had either moved to some other places or their houses were locked, the Nadra official said, adding that in all such cases several attempts were made to trace addresses, failing which CNICs were returned to Nadra’s registration offices.

He said it had been decided to inform people to contact their nearest Nadra’s registration offices to collect their CNICs.
