KARACHI: Mauripur Road inaugurated

KARACHI, Aug 16: Governor Mohammedmian Soomro on Friday inaugurated the newly-constructed Mauripur Road.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan, DCO Karachi Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and other officials.

EDO Works Brig Zaheer Qadri briefed the governor about project details and said it would facilitate Hawkesbay housing scheme, Mauripur truck stand and those visiting the coastal areas for recreation.

He informed that upcountry-bound cargo is also taken on trucks which use this very road.

On the occasion, the governor said that government had started work on various projects to provide better facilities to people and expressed delight that the city district government had followed this very spirit and started various schemes of public welfare.

These schemes include Shah Waliullah Road, Nishtar Road, Mehran Highway, Nagan Chowrangi, Guru Mandar Chowrangi, Traffic Management at Old Exhibition round-about, construction of flyovers at Sharea Faisal and Korangi Road Inter-section and extension of Preedy Street from Empress Market to the Quaid’s Mausoleum.

Mr Soomro hoped that after completion of these schemes, the traffic flow would improve.

The Mauripur Road is a two-lane dual carriageway road built in accordance with international standards.—APP
