SHIKARPUR, March 30 Bhayo tribesmen and people from other communities elected Mir Babal Khan Bhayo as chief of the Bhayo clan on Tuesday.

Notables of tribe and others communities, including Qazi, Memon, Deega, Mangnejo and Jafri, unanimously rejected the claim of Wahid Bux Bhayo on the tribal title after declaring him incapable of holding the position.

Babal Khan Bhayo said that a formal ceremony would be held on April 18 and tribal chiefs and notables from four provinces would be invited.

Ceremonies marking the nomination were also held in Rahim Yar Khan, Ghotki and other areas, he said.

Mir Babal Khan Bhayo, Shikarpur district president of PPP, expressed gratitude to people and assured them of his cooperation.

He condemned the recent killings of Raja Khan Mangnejo and said this was the third incident in which a notable of Shikarpur had been killed. Earlier, he said his father, Mir Altaf Khan Bhayo, former MNA, was killed. Then Barkat Ali Essani, a landlord of Bado area was murdered.
