NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 19 The secretary of Road Transport Authority and DDO (revenue) removed encroachments that had sprung up along the front side of the Government High School in Tharushah on Friday after receiving directives from the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

RTA secretary Mohammad Yasin along with DDO Tariq Nizamani, TMA staff and police reached the school and asked cabin and hotel owners to remove their structures.

The cabin and hotel owners responded by protest and burned tyres on the road. Police were directed to disperse the protesters but the protesters dispersed before police could take any action.

Some of them removed their cabins themselves and the remaining cabins were taken to the TMA office.

The protesters' leaders Mohammad Saleh Baladi, Mukhtiar Ujjan and Abbas Baladi said that they had been doing the business for years and they had been disturbed unnecessarily.

RTA secretary Mohammad Yasin told journalists that they were directed by Chief Justice of Pakistan to remove the encroachments and bus stop set up near the school.

DDO (coordination) Abdul Aleem Sehto said that the DCO had directed the TMO and DDO (revenue) of Bhirya town to remove the encroachments and shift the bus stop after receiving a letter from the CJP. He said that the head master of the school Abdul Sattar Ujjan had sent an application to the CJP, complaining that the students' education was affected due to encroachments and bus stop right outside the school building.
