QUETTA, Aug 12: Pishin Scouts, a wing of Frontier Corps, has seized huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition including bombs, rocket launchers, hand-grenades and other weapons on Monday from two places near the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“We have also recovered 147kg hashish in the raid “, scouts Commandant Col Mohammad Sarwar said while confirming the recovery of illegal weapons.

The troops of Pishin Scouts had raided the area of Abatu on a tip-off and recovered 88 bombs, 12 hand-grenades, 6 rocket launchers, 30 mortar shells and huge quantity of 14.7mm rounds.

The consignment had been brought from Afghanistan and dumped in the Abatu area to smuggle it to the interiors of Pakistan, scouts sources said.

The Pishin scouts personnel also moved into the Murda Karez area near the border town Chaman and recovered 147kg of hashish from the area, which was loaded on donkeys. No arrest was made.
