KARACHI, Dec 8 Ahsan Butt subdued Adnan Arif 3-2 in the fully stretched battle to storm into the pre quarter-finals of the third Sindh Junior Cup snooker tournament phase II at the Aly's Snooker Parlour on Tuesday.

He conceded the third and fourth frames after securing 2-0 lead only to recover and clinch the decider. The scores were 68-28, 72-58, 46-70, 16-43, 49-35.

He was joined by 15 other players in the last 16 who also got the better of their opponents in the second round.

Forty eight players have entered in the knockout contest which concludes on Friday. Top eight players will join as many cueists in the 16-man league which will be played next month. The eight players have qualified for the league from the phase I held in June.

The top eight players of the league will represent Sindh in the third Juniors National Snooker championship early next year.
