KARACHI, Nov 19 Davis Cupper Yasir Khan lived up to his top billing when he prevailed over fourth seed Syed Zuhair Raza in straight sets final to land men's singles title in the 19th Talent Hunt Sindh Ranking Tennis championship at the City Sports complex courts on Thursday.

Yasir, youngest of the Khan clan, returned home 6-4, 6-2 victorious over junior international Zuhair, who is catching up fast. The men's final was brought forward on the penultimate day as Yasir had to leave for Hyderabad to feature in another contest.

But it was another promising youngster, Nameer Shamsi, who caught the eye with two back-to-back triumphs in a span of few hours. First, he accounted for second seed Talha Zubair Surmawala 7-5, 6-1 to claim boys' under-15 crown and then stunned top seed Mustafa Zaidi 5-7, 7-5, 6-0 to make his entry into juniors' under-17 singles final. He is now on course for a possible double crown and takes on the winner of second semi-final, Omer Shahid and Zuhair Raza, in the final.

Eman Malik and Maheen Dada emerged No 1 and 2 in ladies round robin and qualified for the title battle.

The event concludes on Friday with remaining six finals on card.
