ISLAMABAD, Oct 7: Pakistan was taken into confidence by the United States before launching the attack in Afghanistan on Sunday night and president Gen Pervez Musharraf will announce the government’s position here Monday.

Maj-Gen Rashid Qureshi, president’s spokesman and director-general Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) talking to Dawn at 11.30pm on Sunday confirmed that Pakistan was informed well in advance about the attacks. He said, “definitely, we were taken into confidence in advance”.

He refused to give detailed reaction to the US attacks saying Pakistan’s reaction would come from the President at a press conference on Monday at 10am in the national library auditorium.
