GILGIT, Oct 7 The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has said that the self-rule package was not reflecting aspirations of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

While addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Chairman PML-N Raja Zafarul Haq said that the self-rule package needed to be improved and vowed to give more rights to the people of the region if their party came into power.

The PML-N leader said that the Gilgit-Baltistan was not part of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said that voters would foil any bid of poll rigging in the upcoming regional elections.

“Protection of lives and property of people is basic responsibility of the state,” he said. So far PML-N had not decided any seat arrangement or becoming part of any coalition, he added.

Meanwhile, former chief executive Gilgit-Baltistan Ghazanfar Ali Khan, his wife Attiqa Ghazanfar and son Sheheryar joined the PML-N. This was announced during a conference addressed by Raja Zafarul Haq.
