KARACHI, July 24: Five persons died in separate road accidents on Wednesday.

Police said a speeding truck (JT-2669) knocked down a motorcyclist (SGB-2228) on main Shershah Road near Paracha Chowk on Wednesday evening.

Police said Shahid, 22 and Shakil, 25, were riding a motorcycle when they were hit by a speeding truck near Paracha Chowk.

Both the injured were rushed to Abbasi where Shakil was admitted for treatment while Shahid was pronounced dead by doctors.

The errant driver escaped from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind, police said.

A speeding bus crushed a pedestrian in Kharadar on late Tuesday night.

Police said a speeding bus of route 4, (JA-5149) crushed a pedestrian Kashif, 35, near Tower.

The injured was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment, police said.

The errant driver escaped from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind, police added.

A truck driver died when his vehicle turned turtle on Superhighway on early Wednesday morning.

Police said truck driver Salahuddin, 50, died when his truck (SXP-4090) turned turtle.

The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

In another accident, a minibus conductor lost his life when a speeding minibus turned turtle at ICI Bridge in West Wharf.

Police said that minibus conductor, Nazar, 25, was standing on the foot-board at the time of the accident.

The victim was shifted to Civil Hospital where he later died during treatment, police said.

A young motorcyclist died in a road accident in SITE on Wednesday night.

Police said motorcyclist Mohammad Iqbal, aged 35, was knocked down by a speeding bus of route 20 at Habib Bank Bridge, SITE. The victim was rushed to Abbasi where he died during treatment, police said.
