KARACHI, July 23: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, will award cash prizes as well as shields and certificates to the principals of seven best colleges in August.

A senior official of the Board said the principals would be awarded for the overall best performance of their colleges in academic and co-curricular activities. This would be for the first time that the BIE would offer a cash prize of Rs5,000 to the number one colleges in three faculties — Science, Commerce and Humanities.

Position holder of the annual examinations would also be awarded gold medals at a function.

The top three colleges are: Science group: The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karimabad, (ranked 1st); Bahria College, M. T. Khan Road (2nd) and Govt St Joseph’s College for Women (3rd).

Commerce group: The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karimabad, (1st); Commecs Institute of Business Education (2nd) and the DHA Degree College for Women (3rd).

Humanities group: DHA Degree College for Women (1st); Govt Degree College, Stadium Road, (2nd) and the PECHS Govt College for Women (3rd).
