KARACHI, Sept 19 Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls won the 1st MCB Junior Hockey Super League after beating Rose Petal Lahore Lions 3-2 at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Friday evening.

Faisalabad's centre-half Mohammad Tauseeq got a hat-trick by scoring all the three goals for his side in the 33rd, 41st and 56th minutes.

Lahore's two goals were also scored by one player left-out Mohammad Bilal in the 21st and 42nd minutes. Bilal was also named the Man of the Match.

In the third-position match played earlier, Maksons Sialkot Eagles edged out Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers 1-0. The match's only goal and decider was scored by Sialkot's centre-half Mohammad Jaffar in the 69th minute.

Jaffar was also declared Man of the Match and awarded the prize by PHF academies chief Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, the chief guest, distributed the prizes and medals among the teams and individuals.

Winners Faisalabad Bulls were awarded Rs700,000, runners-up Lahore Lions Rs500,000 and Sialkot Eagles Rs300,000. Meanwhile, Kashif Ali of Lahore Lions was declared the best player of the league and presented with Rs100,000. Zubair Ahmad of Karachi Dolphins, the top-scorer of the league, and Nasir Ali of Engro Larkana Qalandars, declared the best goalkeeper, got Rs50,000 each.

President PHF Qasim Zia, Secretary Asif Bajwa, Sports Minister Sindh Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, members of the national selection committee and Olympians were also present on the occasion.
