MINGORA At least three militants were killed in a clash with a local tribal lashkar in Mingora, while two militants were arrested during operations in Bara Tehsil of Khyber agency, security forces said.    

According to sources, the militants opened fire on the local tribal lashkar when it reached the Galoch area of Kabal Tehsil. In an hour-long exchange of fire three militants lost their lives while their accomplices managed to flee the area.

A volunteer of a local tribal lashkar was also wounded in the attack while militants also took the body of one of his colleagues along with them.

The security forces have arrested a top Taliban commander Dawa Noor during search operations in a suburban area of Mingora. The militant commander was wanted by police for various crimes, sources said. 

Over 59 militants have been killed while 75 have been arrested during military operations being conducted for the last three days in Khyber agency. -Online
