KARACHI, July 18: Federal Minister of Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Owais Ahmed Ghani said here on Thursday a new labour policy had been finalized and in the next cabinet meeting it would be presented for its final approval.

He said this while talking to newsmen at a seminar on “Migrant issues and Concerns.”

Replying to another question, he said unlike previous labour policies, the new one would be state labour policy on account of its not formulated by the government alone.

“It has been developed after engaging into consultation all stakeholders, including employees, employers and the government,” he added.

He expressed the hope that future governments would follow the new labour policy aimed at improving the lot of workers.—PPI
