KARACHI, July 18: The Tehrik-i-Istiqlal has proposed that the government hold an all-parties conference to attain national consensus on all issues including the elections reforms and the constitutional package.

Speaking at a press conference, TI chief Rehmat Khan Wardag said that the above amendments should be incorporated in the constitution and reforms introduced through consensus.

He also demanded of the government to set up an interim caretaker government headed by Asghar Khan to hold fair and free elections and transfer power to elected representatives.

Welcoming the ban on the third term for prime minister and chief minister, Mr Wardag said the condition of ineligibility should also be imposed on all those who were involved in financial scandals and misuse of office.
