KARACHI, July 18: An emergency plan has been prepared by the administration of Saddar and Lyari Towns for cleaning of stormwater drains and to remove encroachments around them in view of expected rains.

A meeting of the high-ups of the both towns was held here on Wednesday which discussed the steps to meet any emergency rain situation.

It was decided that immediate steps be taken to clean up the stormwater drains and sewerage lines. In case of any emergency, arrangements be made for shifting the people to relief centres which are to be set up in nearby schools and community centres.
