KARACHI, July 15: Hundreds of houses in Korangi Town’s Union Council-7, are being supplied contaminated water for the last fortnight and the residents of the affected areas said all their complaints have, so far, gone in vain.

Complaining about the non-cooperative attitude of the KWSB’s concerned officials, residents of the affected locality said almost all houses of Korangi’s UC-7, specially those situated in its Block ‘Q’, were getting stinking water for the last two weeks, and the concerned official of the KWSB have not yet taken measures to remove the fault responsible for contaminated water.

Suspecting that sewage might be seeping into the locality’s pipeline, they urged the acting Nazim and the KWSB’s senior officials to direct the concerned officials to ensure clean and hygienic water without any further delay as there is a possibility of the outbreak of contagious diseases.

A vast area of Federal B’ Area, too, is being supplied muddy water for the last one week.

Residents of Federal B’ Area’s blocks 7, 9 and 14 complained that although they had lodged a number of complaints with the concerned officials of the KWSB, no measures have, so far, been taken to ensure clean water.

Complaints of acute water shortage have also been received from Kharadar, North Karachi’s Sector 11-C-One and Lyari’s deficient pockets.

According to a resident of Kharadar, funeral ceremony of a woman of the locality, had to be delayed merely because there was no water on Sunday in entire lane of the locality, near Kharadar police kiosk.
