KARACHI, July 14: The educational policy of the government not only fails to enhance literacy rate but will also lead to close the doors of education on the poor.

This was observed by Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chief Asadullah Bhutto while addressing the party’s educational committee.

Referring to the denationalization policy of educational institutions and patronization of private educational organizations, he said the policy pursued by the government will make education out of the reach of the common man.

“In order to meet the challenges of the 21st century and to put the country on road to progress, there is a need to increase literacy rate and making higher education accessible to the common man.

‘‘But the government is patronizing family planning and is closing the door of education on the poor,” he pointed out and said that Madaris operating in rural and urban areas in the country had been playing a vital role in enhancing literacy rate and were a source of education for the poor.
