KARACHI, June 26 Two suspected bandits were shot dead by the guard of a local politician in Surjani Town on Friday.

Police said that Sindh JUI General Secretary Hafiz Ahmed Ali was passing through the Surjani Town area when the two armed suspects on a motorcycle intercepted the vehicle at a speed bump near Bhittaiabad Goth.

The police said as the suspects shot at and wounded a security guard sitting on the front seat, a guard sitting on the back seat of the vehicle opened fire on them, killing both on the spot.

Gadap SP Rao Anwar said that the suspects had been identified as Wahid Bukhsh and Safdar. Both were residents of Khameso Goth. He said the police also seized two pistols from their custody. The SP said that the police were verifying if the motorcycle used in the crime was a stolen one.
