KARACHI, June 10 Top seed Nomi Qamer established his superiority posting an authoritative victory over second seed Nasir Mushtaq to land the men's singles title in the Maroof Trophy tennis tournament at Beach View Club on Wednesday.

Nomi, a former member of Pakistan Davis Cup team, gave no room to his opponent outclassing 6-2, 6-0 in the final which unexpectedly fell short of expectation.

The fraternity was expecting a fierce battle in the aftermath of their recent final in which Nomi had struggled home in a three-set duel.

Nameer Shamsi's hopes to claim a triple crown were dashed when he faced defeats in two of the three finals. He met with success in boys under-15 handing a 6-0, 6-4 drubbing to second seed Uzair A. Qadir.

The juniors' under-17 singles title went to top seed Mustafa Zaidi who accounted for Nameer 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.

The pair of Adil Kohari and Abdul Rehman pulled off an upset when they overcame Yayha Basit Gabol and Nameer 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

Seher Khawaja, a former national hard court champion, added another feather to her cap registering 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sara Ahmed to annex ladies singles title.
