KARACHI, June 1 Top seed Nomi Qamar came back from the jaws of defeat to beat second seed Nasir Mushtaq in a thrilling final to win the men's singles title in the Anti Tobacco Day tennis tournament at Karachi Club on Sunday.

Nomi, a former member of Pakistan Davis Cup team, dropped the opener 3-6 only to recover and level the score by taking the second set in a tie breaker 7-6 (7-5). Nomi completed the rout picking the decisive set 6-3.

The win enabled him to avenge his last defeat he had tasted at the hands of Nasir in a Sindh ranking event earlier.

Seher Khwaja, a former national hard court champion, handed a 6-2, 6-0 defeat to Sara Ahmed to win the ladies crown.

Second seed Farhan Altaf stunned top seed Adil Kohari in three sets to land the juniors' under-18 singles title. He was home 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.
